MEET THE OLANIYAN SCHOLARS TEAM
A team of W231 Professional writing skills students- Aaron Kile, Isabella Mokaya, Adrienne Duke, and Tony Prabhu-Hensley- partnered with a community client, Dr. Patricia Turley (the associate director of Olaniyan Scholars Program at IUPUI) to write a recommendation report on how to get African American Students interested in interdisciplinary research at IUPUI.
The team met with Dr. Turley in a 30 minute zoom meeting to discuss a challenge Olaniyan Scholars Program was trying to address. The team worked over the next 10 weeks doing over 100 hours of digital research and conducting a local study with 50 respondents to write recommendations for Olaniyan Scholars Program based on best practices in industry trends that Olaniyan could employ to get African American students at IUPUI interested in interdisciplinary research.
